need better compensation. ⠀ ⠀ Studies have found that for women to advance to leadership positions it is critical for them to have a mentor, and they suggested that it is important for the role model to be the same gender. ⠀ ⠀ However, because there are only 24% women in the c-suite, it is necessary for each leader to mentor more than one woman. ⠀ ⠀ This expected service will benefit the company but often comes at a significant cost in the form of time and effort to those providing the mentoring. ⠀ ⠀ There needs to be a better way to provide mentoring, “But doing this second-shift labor for free only creates one more burden on women that, ironically, makes it harder for them to advance in their careers.” ⠀ ⠀ Read more: https://buff.ly/2LrhztZ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #MassWomen
